Installation of the tool: The tool is embedded in a security suite, but only the parental control features were subject of this test. The installation process is comprehensible. The installer provides a choice of language for the tool. A process bar and timer show the progress of the installation.
Configuration of the tool: The configuration process is easy to learn, but not always comprehensible. The process mostly conforms to users’ expectations, however, there are barely any options to individualise or influence the process.
Usage of the tool: The tool provides no options to react when a website has been blocked. The alert message is addressed to parents and not to children. It cannot be customised, but it is generally adequate and context-sensitive. The reporting is comprehensible and the provided information is adequate.

FUNCTIONALITY
The Parental Global Protection tool is part of an all-in-one security suite. The user can set up a profile for each Windows account. The tool has basic functions such as URL based black and white lists and adjustable filter categories. Filter categories can be set according to age or customised personally.
